The paper explores the extent of women’s participation and representation in politics and governance in Zimbabwe. It seeks to give policy recommendations on women’s advancement in politics and governance by incorporating recent developments and rethinking existing policies. The paper analyzes the plight of women in Zimbabwe in navigating political spheres and governance. It also explores the dynamics of women’s participation in politics, leadership roles, influential positions, and elected offices. Subsequently, the paper unpacks the latest developments in the politics of gender and governance and gives policy recommendations to enhance the effectiveness and efficacy of women’s inclusion in developing democracies.
