Despite Angola’s declining oil production in recent years, there is currently a window of opportunity for increasing collaboration with other nations, such as the United States, in order to drive sustainable growth. As this article makes clear, the United States has a deliberate, stated agenda to boost and strengthen its ties with Angola. Given the ongoing restructuring of the Angolan oil sector and recent presidential decrees and legislation, promising avenues for collaboration exist that are worthy of pursuit. The recommendations discussed in this context aim to strengthen relations between Angola and the United States: two nations with 30 years of diplomatic history.
